Each design is specifically intended for its site. The design process begins by researching the site with its views, solar orientation, and unique features as well as the restrictions from zoning and other ordinances. Access and utility planning begin to inform the site development.

Sketches are an integral first step in the design process. I like to record my impressions of the site with sketches that will begin to organize the site into a design solution. This sketch process may generate several schemes.

Once a scheme has been selected, I develop CAD drawings to scale that will show the plans and elevations of the building. Sections and models are developed as needed to convey the design ideas.

Once a design has been approved, I begin working on Construction Documents and specifications to show how to build it.

My on site inspections and project overview is intended to assure that the building is built as it was designed. Periodic site visits and committed availability to your builder, make answering any questions you or your builder may have an important aspect of my service.
